Ocean-lovers rejoice: with the latest announcement from the CDC, many US cruise ports are preparing to welcome cruisers back to their docks once again.

1. Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Fort Lauderdale is home to one of the most popular cruise ports in the world, Port Everglades. Strategically located two miles away from the city, Port Everglades is the hub of multiple cruise lines sailing on a variety of itineraries.

Start planning your next cruise from Port Everglades as early as July 2021. One of the most anticipated ships, Celebrity Apex, will offer seven-night Caribbean sailings starting July 4th. Other cruise lines like Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean, and Holland America will also have four-night and seven-night sailings throughout 2021.

2. PortMiami in Miami, Florida

Thanks to its diverse cultural influences, stunning beaches, and exhilarating neighborhoods, Miami is the perfect place to set sail to a variety of destinations. PortMiami is conveniently located within 30 minutes of Miami International Airport and Fort Lauderdale Airport. Hosting more than 20 cruise lines, PortMiami makes it easy for you to find a ship and an itinerary that works for you.

You can sail from the vibrant city of Miami as early as July 2021 aboard Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, and MSC Cruises. All three cruise lines are offering from three up to seven-night sailings on beautiful ships—ideal whether you need a short escape or a full week of adventures.

3. Port Canaveral in Orlando, Florida

Port Canaveral, located in Orlando, Florida, is the homeport of major cruise lines such as Carnival, Disney, Norwegian, and Royal Caribbean. The port’s location near many theme parks and family-friendly attractions make it a great place to extend your trip before or after a cruise.

If Port Canaveral is your port of choice, there are many itineraries available for you. You can sail away as early as July 1, 2021, with a four-night Bahamas cruise aboard the Carnival Elation. Disney Cruises is also offering three-night and four-night Bahamas cruises in July aboard the Disney Dream. If you need a longer getaway, Royal Caribbean has seven-night Caribbean cruises aboard the Mariner of the Seas and the Allure of the Seas.

4. Port of Galveston in Galveston, Texas

The Port of Galveston is one of the busiest cruise ports of North America, hosting many major cruise lines including Carnival, Disney, and Royal Caribbean. Galveston Island is more than a departure point, with beautiful beaches, giant swing rides over the water, fun activities for the entire family, and more. Since this is a popular destination, many hotels in the area offer guests complimentary parking and a free shuttle to the cruise port.

With a wide variety of Caribbean cruises sailing from Galveston, you can book itineraries of four, five, and seven nights. Carnival Breeze and Explorer of the Seas both offer four-day sailings starting July 1 and July 3, 2021. You can also book a seven-night voyage with Liberty of the Seas starting July 4, 2021, and visit the ports of call of Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Roatan. 5. Port of Los Angeles in Los Angeles, California

A 40-minute drive south from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) gets you to The Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro. Thanks to its location along the Pacific Coast, it’s the departure point for sailings to the Mexican Riviera, along the coast of California, and even through the Panama Canal to Fort Lauderdale. The Los Angeles cruise terminal offers no shortage of things to see and do: rent bikes right outside the docks, visit the San Pedro Fish market, or browse the hand-made goods at Crafted—an artisanal shopping mall perfect for stocking up on souvenirs for friends and family.

Most cruise lines dock at the port of Los Angeles, including Princess Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, and many more. One of the earliest sailing available is July 1, 2021, aboard the beautiful Ruby Princess. The ship features a variety of cruise lengths, all centered around the Mexican Riviera.

6. Manhattan Cruise Terminal, in New York, New York

Right in the heart of New York City, sitting on the Hudson River, is the Manhattan Cruise Terminal. Some of the world’s most luxurious, modern, and enormous cruise ships call this port home. In addition to being right in New York City—a destination unto itself, with endless attractions—this port is the starting point for any cruiser’s bucket list. Itineraries include the Caribbean, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, New England, and even the increasingly popular world cruises.

You can find your cruise from New York as early as September 5, 2021, aboard the Norwegian Breakaway, one of the largest cruise ships in the world. The Breakaway will take you on a seven-night journey through Canada and New England Ports. Families can step aboard the Disney Magic and embark on a five-night adventure to Bermuda starting October 14, 2021.

7. Port NOLA in New Orleans, Louisiana

Surrounded by the popular French Quarter, and only a short drive from downtown, the port of New Orleans is conveniently located near countless attractions and activities catering to different tastes and interests. New Orleans, also known as “The Big Easy,” is famous for its multi-cultural heritage, vibrant jazz and street music scene, delicious cuisine, and of course its Mardi Gras festival. Various cruise lines sail year-round from this port, so when you’re done exploring this unique city, you can continue the adventure onboard.

Sailings from New Orleans start as early as July 4, 2021, with Carnival Glory’s 7-night Caribbean cruise, visiting the ports-of-call of Roatan, Belize, and Cozumel. The next available sailing is scheduled for July 11, 2021, also be aboard the Carnival Glory, stopping at Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel.
